Fuel Teatments

Diesel Kleen by Power Service is an Industry standard , you should use it at least once a year . look for the grey platic bottles in truck stops .

It can be used when performing your annual Diesel Purge if you cannot afford the $pendy German Diesel Purge & Valve Kleen or if it's not available in your area .

It also is a big Cetane improver and will pay for itself in increased fuel milage plus you'll be able to actually _feel_ the power boost . over dosing cannot hurt your engine .

For the black chunks left by fungus , try Startron by Starbite , it's a blue liquid in a clear plastic bottle , buy to small bottles and dump the first one into a full tank , then run it untill nearly empty (low fuel light should now work again) , re-fill and follow the recommended doage for the next couple tanks fulls . always look at your primary fuel screen and as soon as you see the tiny chunks in it , change BOTH fuel filters ~ done this way , your InTank pickup screen won;t clog and if it's filthy when you bought the car , it will SELF CLEAN ad Startron is an enzyme that _eats_ the Fungus , most Fungus treatments only kill it by chemical shock , leaving behind a mess that clogs the system .

Startron is available at most boating supply stores , I get it @ West Marine .

The thing to remember is : CHANGE THE FUEL FILETRS ! at least once a year , use a crayon or paint stick to mark date & milage on the side of the filter so you won't forget .

MMO is a good thing to add for lubricity in the new low sulfur fuels , it's cheap in discount stores and only take a few ounces to treat an entire tankfull of fuel ~ I get three tankfulls out of each bottle .
