Something does not look right

I decided to replace the engine mounts. On the left side of the engine (standing facing the front) you can see there is no damper and cover on the mount. Then on the right side there is a damper and a cover. It doesn't seem right.

Also when I want to order the engine mounts, there is 2 different kinds http://www.***********************/search/?N=1668+11109+4294966745+6863
which one is right?

jeeze... sooo much grease

go to the link up top that says "Buy Parts"

the parts here will work as well

although certain chasis ranges have different mounts

yours doesnt seem to use the round type

a few cans of degreaser can go a long way before tearing into these cars

Take the car to a diy car wash and blast that stuff off around where you intend to work. I learned to clean before starting a job doing an engine mount change on a 1982 240D years ago. Jim

Can't do that

I'm waiting for the xzn bit for my head (replacing the head gasket), and i have everything taken off except for the head. I've already been yelled at for grease around the house, so a little more won't hurt. What i really need to know, if there should be a damper on both sides of the engine mounts, and if there should be something coving both.

thanks for the quick reply s already

Your engine has a date with this and a some old paint brush's.

As for the two different types of engine mounts and the dampers, I'd have the dealer look up what you need with your VIN. Don't trust the online parts catalog's they are very often wrong.
