High oil pressure

Hi guys, just had a quick question:

I adjusted my control and I'm LOVING the power it's giving me. One thing though: when I first start the car after it's been sitting for a few hours, the oil pressure is ALL the way up, even in idle without touching the pedal.

After I've driven it a bit, then the car is in the normal <30 pressure range while in idle or deceleration, but for about 5-10 minutes after I first start driving, the oil pressure is constantly maxed out.

So: is this something I should worry about?

It all has to do with the temperature of the oil.

There are no tech indicators for abnormal "high oil pressure."

Where did you hear about "high oil pressure?"?

i am guessing this is his first MB and he is used to American cars that never peg the scale. And american cars generally don't create the oil pressures these cars i. If a chevy gets up to to 100 psi there is a problem

seeing the oil pressure peg is an odd thing when you first start driving these cars.

OK, that's good to know. Thanks guys. Yeah, it's my first MB.

I was just concerned a bit because before I adjusted the control the oil pressure wouldn't be at the peg while in an idle, and then that changed.

Anyhow, thanks again!

I adjusted the linkage so that when the accelerator pedal is to the floor, the IP linkage is also pushed down all the way. Amazing the difference this makes... also seems to have fixed another problem I was having with the transmission shifting too early.
(the transmission would go from 3rd to 4th almost immediately if there wasn't a lot of pressure on the accelerator... now it shifts perfectly and at the correct time).
