I bought Xeon light assemblies L & R
Part numbers 144 345-00 & 144 346-00 complete assemblies for my 1998 e300 TD. My Benz is a 210.025, 606.962
Do I need to change the computer to see the new Xeon light assemblies over the stock NON Xeon assemblies? Or just plug and play? Larry |

It's plug in SDS and play. There is a setting for HID lamps, since they have different power requirements.
Of course, you're also supposed to have the levelers. |

SDS is Star Diagnostic System. The dealer has it. A busy independent might also have one (it's quite expensive).
You should probably be able to get someone to recode the system for the HID lamps for a minimal fee. It really is as easy as plugging in and changing a setting. Until you do, you'll probably get the "lamp out" malfunction every time you turn on the lights. Then again, you might get lucky. |

I am finally installing the Xeon-Xeon light assemblies and am finding a few items for discussion.
a. Levelers- The leveler motors are inside the headlight assemblies. The have a 5 or 6 wire plug in. Where do I find this plug in and to what does it hook up to. Should be some type of leveling measuring device. B Mounting bracket ears- The one with the large hole is broken off. It looks like the old housing will interchange. The question is with the leveler motor located inside the light assembly....How do i remove the motor shaft from the light leveling post? |
