Window switch issue.Help!!!

The driver window switch is very hard to depress to lower the window. the up side is ok. i took the switch apart and cleaned it with contact cleaner. reassembled. it still takes alot of force to push down the lower side of the switch. Any thought on what can be wrong? Switch is out of an 85 300d.

thanks
Cliff

Are the window switches pretty much interchangeable on the same vintage of cars from one model to the next?

I bought new switches for about 30 bucks on fleabay. I can't complain. I tried cleaning the switches but they were pretty much shot.

Where do you live at? I live in MN. It has just gotten cold here. It was 3F this morning. I have noticed in the last week or so my window switch was harder to push and took longer to go down. I just correlated it with the cold.
