1992 300D remote start !!!HELP!!!
I’m very distressed and was wondering if anyone could help me. Im trying to install an auto start system on my new (1992) Mercedes 300D. LOTS OF TROUBLE! I’ve been researching the web and ran across this post, CLICK HERE. Can anyone Idendify the "Chrysler brand electro-pneumatic valve?"
Any help would be greatly appreciated Mark |

In the post in question on that other thread, they mentioned that it came out of a Chrysler car, perhaps from a junk yard. No new part number, etc, was ever provided.

There are several of these units on most '80 to '90 MBs. I believe they are called switch over valves. They are the same as discribed for the Chrysler part, 2 electrical connections, and 3 vacuum connections. I used one when I installed a remote start on my 91 300D. I basically just cut the vacuum line between the ign switch and the stop valve so that when the valve was intergized, it removed vacumn from the start valve and blocked the vacuum that was comming from the ign switch. Then it was intergized by the remote start unit. Works great. I'll look tomorrow and see if I can find the pn for the switch over valve and the correct name for it.
