Wow!

A diesel CLS. I guess we won't see any of them over here in the US. Does anybody know? Man, I'd LOVE to have one of those.

I didn't see anywhere on that site to get an English version. Did I just miss it?

Too bad the thing is an ugly copy of a Nissan. The windows on those are TINY, if you wanted to rest your arm on the window sill it would be up by your neck.

I'm always glad to see more diesels, but I think the CLS is pretty funky looking. I'm sure they would have a market, but I wouldn't buy one.

Kinda scary how perfectly those match up...lol. However, one is a MB, and the other is a Nissan. No contest.

I've driven the CLS. Its a highly styled vehicle. Yes it has huge blind spots, and high door sills. But, they call it a 4-door coupe for a reason.

Thats the standard 3.2 diesel they use in everything else. Its a great power-plant and the last one I drove was a GL320 CDI. That damn thing was getting low 20's in the city.

I guess you either love the CLS or you hate it. I'd love to have one of them.

Isn't that backwards? It seems to me that the Japanese manufacturers typically copy the European cars, not the other way around. I don't know which one came first in this case, though.

That looks really nice to me but if I can't work on it I can't afford it.

Well, I can get all excited about it, because I can't afford to buy it in the first place. It doesn't even matter that I can't afford to keep in running . . . Oh crap! I just shorted out my keyboard, drooling over that car.

This isn't meant to sound snotty, but is low 20s in the city supposed to be good?

That might not be very impressive for a sedan - but he's not talking about a sedan. He's talking about a GL320 CDI, which is another animal altogether. Passenger/cargo capacity? Full-time 4-wheel drive? Capability off of well-paved roads?

The fuel economy is relatively impressive for what the vehicle is.
