Front Brake rotors
77 300D Bigbob2
I am about to do a brake job for the first time on this car. Checking with the MB shop manuel, it says to replace the self-locking bolts that hold the hub onto the rotors as they can only be used one time. Can this be true? Anyone ever had any problems with reusing these bolts? Is loctite necessary? |

blue loctite
The MB bolts are pre-coated with blue loctite (or something equivalant). They are cheap from the dealer, but, it you want to clean your original bolts with some brake cleaner and use blue loctite - you'll be fine.
My guess it the manual is saying replace to avoid people forgetting to use loctite.

Repack those bearings while you're in there!
Check the rest of the brakes out, you man need calipers, pads, and hoses... yes, turns into one of those "while I'm in here..." issues.
