'84 300D Glovebox Wood trim removal
Is there a way to do this without damaging the wood trim?
When I remove thre glovebox door, I can't remove the lock. Does the lock come out by turning it somehow? Thanks

According to the FSM...
...you have to take the door apart (separate the inner and outer parts) and then remove the outer part. Once you are 'inside' the outer part, you pinch the four snaps that hold the lock in the outer panel and pull the lock out. A special slotted screwdriver is required for the slotted nuts on the inside cover, I suppose you could make one from a screwdriver.
The latch mechanism is marked "oben" ("up" or "top") on one side; make sure it goes back into the lid the same way it came out.

The cold weather did it for me last winter. It was -12F out and when I got in the car I noticed that the wood on the glove box door had popped off at the bottom and was sticking off the door. Looks bad, I have been seeking a super super strong glue or epoxy to glue it back on.

My dad suggested a dab of silicone and a clamp. Silicone might be able to stick to that old foam adhesive they used in the factory. I tried other glues and it doesnt stick, and I dont want to remove the trim to clean off the old crap

On mine the wood came off the aluminum backing. Its perfectly clean aluminum underneath. Just need to re-attach the wood to it.....
