That van probably did some amazing things.

I loved watching him race, his driving style was so fluid. You can tell someone who really, really knows how to drive the car just flows around the track at amazing speeds.

I wonder what he could do in a C63..I'd pay to be a passanger in that.

That's funny.

He also had a collection of harley bikes stashed in various cities so he could go riding where-ever he happened to be. Apparently, he also bought a bunch of v-rods and gave them away to his friends when the first came out.

You should see the house he built! The garage looks like a Ferrari dealership. Sitting in a garage, drinking some nice wine, smoking a cigar, looking at two dozen F cars. Heaven on earth!

It would be nice to have a skill that was that valuable to someone.

By any chance did any of you look at the Ford Focus add next to the article? They have a video of some guys building musical instruments from car parts and they actually work.

I had a low opinion of his driving morality after he tried to wreck Jaques Villeneuve back the year that Jaques ended up winning the championship because Shumi actually put himself out of the crucial race (while trying to wreck JV).

My low opinion improved immensely when I read that he had contributed millions (I forget how many) to the Tsunami fund.

I always admired his driving skills though. His judgement about which tires to run in changing weather was really his most unique skill.

This article was emailed to me this afternoon by a former employee whom I have kept in touch with. I really enjoyed it.

Well, he did pull a few "agressive" moves, like stopping in the middle of the corner at Monte Carlo and blocking the track during qualifying during the last season. However, he can drive.

He's a cold calculating cut throat driver that rewarded his mechanics, and tried to understand their situation, helping build the team around him by doing so. X amount of time in the pits got 'em a bonus, from his pocket. And had serious brain fade occasionally! Monaco pole blocking, and stopping in the tunnel during a safety car, caused a potential perfect season, Ferrari was a middle of the pack organization at best, he and Jean Todt and Ross Brawn did, well, check the history books. He was also a gracious, enthusiastic winner. I do the double pump every now and again myself.
Yeah, he tried to side line JV, and did so to Damon Hill. Not a fan of either of the latter two.
I may be incorrect with the $10 million contribution amount.

I didn't want to say 10 but I remember for sure that I was very impressed.

Why don't you like Jaques and Damon? Got something against 2nd genners?
