Valve adjustment and motor/trans mounts = transformation!

I don't have the time or tools yet, and I had no idea when my car last had a valve adjustment.

So (puts flame suit and weak-sauce armor on) I caved and had my motor mounts, tranny mounts, tranny fluid and filter and valve adjustment and new valve cover gasket done by my indie (Maurice's Mercedes Benz in Costa Mesa - GREAT mechanic, for anyone that is wondering). I also had a vacuum leak looked into.

All of the above was remedied, and let me say - for anyone that is having cold start issues, or any starting issues - a valve adjustment is invaluable. My car starts like a total champ in cold weather (here in California, cold is anything under 50 degrees ) and the car runs smoother as well.

Motor mounts and transmission mounts transformed the car as well. Rattles have disappeared, entire body motions and wallowing have been quelled as well. The car feels worlds apart from the way it did before.

I just wanted to gloat a bit.

Thats the PCH in the picture right? I drove my blue diesel down the PCH last summer, nothing like cruising the coast in a diesel benz. Ive been wanting to do a valve adjustment, when its 30 out (cold here in ca), right when i start the car it makes strange engine noises for about 10 seconds. Nothing metalic, just a grumbling noise.

That most definitely is PCH. I love simply cruising down PCH.

30 IS cold for California. Heck, I looked at the exterior temp gauge in my mom's car a few days ago, and it was 47 at 7:00 AM.
