is some kerosene ok for winter
i was running wvo in my $500.00 78 300d. It went kaput for other reasons. My 85td is too nice to take a chance with wvo though, So i started making biodiesel. Seems pretty well accepted that it is not harmful. Anyway the gel point seems to be higher. Some charts I have seen say that cutting my b100 with 20% kerosene will keep me good to 16F, which should be fine for central virginia. Is this ok ?

I don't know about mixing with WVO, but the 85 300TD owners manual says you can run up to 50% kero/diesel mix.

I think he said mixing it with BioD- and that is just fine.

putting some bio and/or blended fuel in a small glass jar outside the kitchen window will allow you to see if you are going to have a problem each morning.
Putting some in the freezer and checking the temp every 15 minutes until it gels is good info too.

According to the real live MB manual
"WARNING! Under no circumstances should gasoline be added to diesel fuel.
Use winterized No. 1 diesel. If not available 14 F - 32 F == 70% Diesel fuel + 30% Kerosene. Below 14 F == 50% Diesel fuel + 50% Kerosene. Even in extreme climatic conditions the maximum ratio should not exceed 50%. Adding kerosene to No. 1 diesel fuel is not recommended even at low temperatures."

I think with the 616 617s the owners manual says up to 20% (?) not sure the exact %.

Bio lubricates more than petroleum diesel, so anything up to 50-50 Bio/Kero should be safe if a 50-50 D2/Kero is fine.
