Just picked up a 1982 300SD that doesn't start. I got a new battery, and tapped the starter a few times and she tried to turn over. Got considerable smoke out the pipe. It sounds like she really wants to fire up, but just can get some fire going. I'm pretty new to the diesel world so, don't know a whole lot yet, which is why i picked this car up. I put some fresh diesel in it as well. Any ideas? Thanks.
