1985 300SD
I have been working on the interior of this car for some time and currently the console is off. I am currently troubleshooting the climate control system. I noticed and tested this vacuum solenoid is not working.



It is directly underneath the fiber optic spider, behind the AC controls. What is the function of this solenoid?
I pulled it apart and found a bad diaphram. Who sells them?

The only thing I find wrong with the function of the climate control is that when it is in the DEFROST mode, only warm air comes from the dash vents. Could this be the solenoid which causes this function not to work?

I've repaired a couple of diaphragms for door locks with the glue made for wetsuit repair. You can use just the glue or add a bit of rubber glove. Steve
