are there any thoughts on a diesel driver dating service?

I read on here all the men that need permission to go and buy or work on, or what have you concerning the diesel vehicles.
any interest in women who enjoy oily grungy men or vice versa?
how about auto enthusiast women/men thread? hmm?
am I missing something?
I am guessing this might be better for open discussion, but we dieselers really should have a thread (lets not go for a sticky)
personally, I don't need a listing, but I see the need for it.

I dated a girl like that in college. She had a '70 Challenger, '72 GTO, and a '69 Grand Prix. She liked leather minis, fishnets and ratchet sets! Total gear head in a girlie package! Oh yeah, she has 'suicide blond' hair too!

Too bad she also had 30k in credit card debt and a $400/day coke habit Would have married her otherwise! Thought about it just to get at the cars as I was driving a '63 Corvair and a '77 Impala at the time...

Of course this was back in 1984...

I'm a student at the University of Utah and I drive a white 300D. There's a girl there who drives a white 4-speed 240D.. we run into each other in our cars every now and then (on and off campus) and wave/flash lights but that's the extent of it.

A friend of mine joked that I should propose to her.. she'd know what was going on when she realizes I smell like diesel, ha.

I hate to say, but my daughter is a girlie gearhead too

My soon to be 16 year old daughter is a total girlie gearhead. When she was three or four she would 'help' me work on the '57 Chevy. She got to the point where she WAS helping. She did a good job assisting on a disk brake conversion we did. Now that she is older she is the one who helps tune the old cars She LOVES the Jeep and likes to get greasy. I guess I did have some influence on her as she looks like my ex-wife. When she is not covered in grease or diesel fuel, she can be seen getting all prettied up. I have had to have the " I have not problem going BACK to prison" talk with a couple boys already !

I like the fact that when she can drive legally she will know how to change a tire, get or give a jumpstart, and wrap a torn radiator hose with duct tape and keep going. She and I are going to drop a new aluminum body on the old CJ and take her out into the woods next year.

My son, on the other hand is turning 18 and all I can say is thank God for AAA!
"You need to CHECK oil?" Why?

There are quite a few girlie gear-heads out there. Just hit a local car show/shine and take a look. We have two big events in the state Blue Suede Cruise and Cruising the Coast. Lots of Femechanics eye candy.

For some reason I never thought to describe myself as that. But I'm sure that's what all the boys call me ... maybe ... well ...

One of my best friends used to drive the 300SD that I've mentioned numerous times around here before....... but sadly she's gone over to the dark side, her folks got her a new vw beetle gasser..... as long as she doesn't get hit in it I guess it's okay.

She enjoyed the diesel until she got her "red sportscar" and I rather suspect that was the end of it.

Oh well.

My sister!
My little sister and i use to HATE each other. then she bought a 1970 Plymouth Duster... that was cool we talked a little more. then she bought a TDI. she is a Diesel Freak. she calls me all the damn time now. all she talks about are diesels. her new favorite color is green "like the diesel pump" shes not the kinda girl to have fads. and its been about a year now with the TDI. i think its seeped into her blood.

She just finished the Engine Machining course at Sierra College.

so, how much can i sell her for

You should ask her out the next time you see her. Since she already waves back, the worse she's likely to do is politely decline.. and you two can still enjoy waving at each other when you pass so no loss even if she declines. Who knows, she might not be available now, but if that changes, she might reciprocate if she knows you're interested.

Wish I'd have figured stuff like this out when I was your age, life might have been a lot more enjoyable

I'm here because of my wife

My wife encouraged me to try biodiesel in the garden tractor. That worked out so we tried a diesel car. Now she has one too and loves it. As a by-product, I found this forum.

Mechanically, I do all the work, but she is capable too, used to do valve adjustments on her VW Beetle.

My 16 year old isn't the slightest bit interested in working on cars, but she does want me to buy her a motorcycle. I do like the "BACK to prison" talk idea, a friend of mine would just quietly clean his guns when his daughters boyfriends were around.

I don't think this is the place to set up a "Diesel dating service thread"....

What are there 3-5 active Diesel babes out there who post??

ANyways....AFAIK the closest I came so far to dating a girl with a decent car was back in NY with one who had a cool '72 green Olds 442.

I did recently go out with a girl from Trinidad who came with me to UPI to find parts for my 300CD, but
other than that I doubt any knew how to change a blown fuse.

So maybe you have to look in S. America or at least out of the USA........
