87 300d trans slipping Are these Vac readings OK?
I just tested my Vac from the Blue Flying Saucer (Trans vac amp) at the TRA (to Transmission) line and here are my readings:
Idle: 8-9" HG Slow Accel: Same Medium throttle Accel: 5" HG Full throttle and boost: 2" HG Seems fine to me. My fluid level is a little high. It seems the slips are when I give it about 1/2" from stop and keep it there through all 4 shifts. Any ideas? thanks! Nick

One other note...
The line to the top of the Blue Flying Saucer (Labeled VAC) has only around 14" HG while the total Vacuum the pump is giving is 22"HG Is this ok? Other background... I broke an end of the linkage that moves the IP throttle. I put a new linkage on there and just ballparked it. It drives just fine seems like acceleration does what I want it to do. Just wondering if that could have anything to do with the slips?

Slow accel, you should see a decrease in vacuum below the fairly static idle reading. The intermediate values are subjective and vary car to car from what I have seen based upon pump vac level, VCV level , pressure level etc... . The overall point is that you should have a bit more vacuum at idle and around 0" vac at full throttle. On my 603 at full throttle , I get about 0.50" - 1" , am assuming that there is some gauge error and plumbing leaks to my test gauge while driving. The "slips" you are referring to are actual trans slips or is this flaring? |

I don't know, what is the difference between a flare and a slip?
