Cat Owners (oxidizer not pets) does your exhaust smell funny?

For those of you who own cats, does your exhaust smell weird. I had my trap ox removed for the recall on my 87 300d and at the same time my timing adjusted. Since then my exhaust doesn't smell like a diesel anymore. It's got a weird smell to it.

Is this my timing adjustment (dealership mechanic adjusted) or the cat that takes away the diesel smell?

I had our '87 recall performed early this year but didn't notice any difference in exhaust smell. The only change I noticed was when I changed from petrodiesel to biodiesel.

I don't remember what my car smelled like before the recall, but I can tell you that I don't think it smells any different from any other diesel I pass on the street (well, it smells a lot less potently than trucks, obviously). I have noticed my Jeep CRD's exhaust smells really odd. My dad's does too, so it isn't just my car ... it's very subtle, but if you happen to be upwind at the right time, it smells funny, and not at all like diesel fumes.

Did you accidentally fill it with Biodiesel? Just kidding, but that will make it smell different.
