Transmission Problem
My first post, I'm Jim,
I have a 1983 300SD (Parts car) with a transmission that 200,000 miles on it, The problem is as follows, reverse will not work at all and it will barely go forward, It takes a lot of RPMS to get it to even move. If I can repair the problem I would like to go that route, Any ideas? The fluid is fine. I did a transmission searched but found very little and nothing that will help me. Thank You ahead of time! 1990 350SDL 248,000 Daily 1984 300SD 241,000 Daily 1983 300SD 220,000 Parts car

WOW! sounds exactly like my situation
http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=209108 now your transmission might need a rebuild, the clutch discs can be worn, if it has 200K on the original tranny. but my tranny was rebuilt a few years ago and has about 25,000 miles on it.
