I was going to "fix" my weird door locks, but someone said if they rise slow and unevenly, that's normal. Is it? I hope so, because then it's one less thing I have to fix!

As long as they all open within 4-5 seconds I'd not worry about it.

Mine open unevenly too. It depends on the actuators and the amount of line between the pump and the actuator....some are closer, some farther from the pump....causing the 'uneven' movement.

Mine are the same too. I would guess they are all open within 2-3 seconds.

Since they're all on a vacuum system, wouldn't the ones towards the end of the line tend to open later than the ones ahead of them? Or does it not work like that?

Mine are also "uneven," but the all move within a second or two of each other. If they hold a vacuum, don't worry about it. I guess you could try lubricating them all if the delay seems excessive.

vaccum pulls evenly everywhere unless there is a leak. but when i say vacuum what i mean is low pressure, and the outside pressure is greater. (I belive atmospheric pressure is 14psi?) When you lower a space below that then the pressure from the outside will cause a vaccume.

my actuators work good. sometimes slow and other times ok. I think the
temperature has some effect on them, along with age.

most of my actuators have been replaced at one time during the miles
and years. so some are quicker than others.

with vacuum, it just sort of sucks.

You have hit on just about all the variable conditions that effect a vacuum system and actuators.....age, heat, distance from vacuum source. I use to notice a big change in response time for the locks on my 84 and 87 300SDs when traveling to higher altitudes from sea level......at times even the air shutters on the vents would start to open and close on their own heading up a mountain.....like they were possessed!:
