Made in France??
As posted in another thread, I found some small holes in my turbocharger. While checking the condition of the patch I applied, I noticed a small tag on the turbo that read "Made in France" I thought that the AIResearch / Garrett turbos were made in America.
I know there are some British components in my car, but is there a list that shows the brand/nationality of each part? I'd be interested to learn more about the various manufacturers. |

"Smart cars" the economy 3cyl 6spd diesels were entirely made in France. MB also produces complete "c" class micro minivans in Spain and Brazil, decent little vans too. Presently just *some* of the "S" cars are built in Stuttgart and possibly longblocks for other models too. My guess is 1985 marked beginning of expanded internationalization for MB, though they've had an assembly plant in Brazil for decades reaching further back.

Cars were assembled in any country as MB sold then disassembled in crates My old euro was a crate car. Plants are all over the world including Vietnam, Spain, Brazil.

The liberty still goes by its namesake, the Grand Cherokee over there.
