Accellaration Question

I recently readjusted (lowered) the idle of my 84D because I realized that I couldn't shutoff the engine with the shuoff lever because the idle was high (although it wasn't really that high ~750 rpm). So i played with the idle screw on the IP up to a point where I could shutoff the engine with the lever (~650 rpm).

the side effect to this however is my accelleration got even slower. B4, I can say the the car was on the peppy side. Now, not only is it much slower when accellerating, the gas pedal also seems to require more pressure when i press on it. Any thoughts on this? Thanks

Is your accelerator linkage opening the rack all the way?

Is the shutoff valve leaking?

Ok... Give me a Darwin award please!!!!

the rubber pad of the accel pedal slipped off to the right side and got in the way of pedal thus making the pedal feel like it was hard to press down plus not go all the way to the floor...... duh.

after I got the pad back in place, I'm back in business

Adjusting the idle and throttle linkages to be *perfect* takes hours of tinkering. I finally got mine to where I like it just in the past year.

I keep my idle around 700ish.
