"tata" versus a 123.......

the tata be that new item from india. $2500 as in list. my experience on 'cheap'. in the last 5/7 years i have purchased 3 model 123's. two with a 4cylinder diesel. manual trannys both. one with a 5. total cost - about $2200. total miles driven in the 123's. a little over 100k. maintenance? total? maybe $1200. this be for tires, batteries, hoses, whatever. does not include oil/filter changes, etc. i do turn my own wrench. what brought this silly missive to the surface? in part, the 123/hybrid post. god. i should get a life.

The W123 is a real car, the Tata is what a beer can with some playschool wheels nailed on?

Thats pretty insulting to compare any MB to that thing.

If they made an electric one I would buy it in a second and use it for a city car. I hate starting the diesel on a cold morning to drive the kids to school. It is a bit to far to walk, 2 miles? and they are still to young to walk on their own.

For $2500 it might make a great platform to convert to electric? Maybe you could even order one without an engine?

I am looking at electric bikes, but even then I wouldn't want to do it in the winter

That one should be called a Na-Da, or a NO NO. Looks like a bubbled out Yugo. remember how safe those were?

The "Smart" car looked pretty impressive in its crash tests, but it is still too small for me.

Hmmm.......I knew that thing looked familiar. They even stole the name! Remenber the egg-shaped space craft that Mork arrived in??? "Nanoo-Nanoo!"
