Condensation in the trunk

I seem to have significant condensation in my trunk as the capet is constanly damp. When I open the trunk lid I offten see water doplets covering the underside of the trunk lid. And sugestions on how to stop this?

Find the leak. Water is leaking in somewhere.

look for a leak.could be brake light gaskets.trunk gasket.could be the dreaded rear window leak.
brake light gasket(between body and light unit)-pack paper towels around them both inside the trunk, close trunk, hose liberally.open trunk, inspect papertowels.
Trunk gasket-smear something rubber friendly(silicone grease for diving o-rings works well) lightly around exposed gasket when trunk is open, close trunk, open trunk and inspect trunk lid for a continuous mark from whatever you used to smear on gasket.
Rear windscreen leak-open trunk, towards back and top of trunk next to and behind hinges is base of windscreen channel, lie down in trunk and shine light and feel with fingers all along that top(bottom) edge.careful could be sharp edges from rust.this is a hard spot to see,so look well and use a bright light.
You could always get a bright ligh and get into trunk, close lid and have someone water your trunk liberally.you may get lucky and see your leak.could also be under the side liners or spare wheel well.look into those nooks and crannies and you shall find what you seek.RUST!!!
