Fuel leak!
After changing the fuel filter this morning, I went to unscrew and pump the lift pump, but fuel started squirting out the bottom of it every time I pumped. Tried starting car to see if the amount I pumped was sufficient, but it was not. Should I just keep pumping, and somehow try to catch the fuel the squirts out?

Bad pump. You need to replace it with the new style spring loaded pump that doesn't require unscrewing. If you fill up the secondary filter you can probably get by without priming the system and if the old pump is screwed back down it might not leak enough air to cause a problem.

It's just called a lift pump? I don't want to end up ordering the wrong part

The lift pump is the mechanical version. Hand pump?

You can generally pump enough to prime the system, even with it leaking ... so that you don't have to wait for the part to drive the car. Just let it leak - don't try to catch that little bit of fuel, which will be dirty from running down the side of the engine.
