I do GIS work for the ..well, it's the university now, but it used to be the State Geological Survey.

Funny that you posted today; I was wondering if anyone else on here worked with GIS at all!

I sit at a desk for eight hours, six of which I spend watching Law & Order.

And they pay me for it! Customer service is easy on graveyard shifts when there are no customers!

Bahahaha, I work graveyards as well (taking care of the mentally disabled), and coincidentally enough I watch quite a lot of Law & Order on the down time. It too is customer service in a way, except these "customers" I watch over take hardcore sleeping meds

Still trying to build and sell houses. Were hopefull this year that the less expensive stuff in the mid to low $300k range will sell. Well see is all I can say, luckly I already have one sold.

Interest rates are low and the market hasn't been doing so bad lately.

just getting old

Late to pick up on this string...

been through landscaping and auto repair, during school.

graduated as an engineer... mostly in EE . computer work

morphed into computer development, project management for about 15 years

went independent as a consultant for 10 years, specialized in "fixing" broken projects or broken companies

now hired full time in the banking / funds transfer business, helping the process get better

been a dad for 16 years and loving it

still wrenching on our old cars to keep them running and pushing a lawn mower to appreciate how hard it is to do real work

Looking at this thread, there is an amazing set of skills out there. Congrats to all for their contributions and successes.
