W116 Euro Lughts.

Today I went to our local Pick N Pull to see what new inventory has been
added. been raining so was a little too wet to crawn under anything.

There is a w116 gasser Euro model, cloth seats, bumpers, euro head lights, and 15 inch bunt wheels about the cleanest ones I have ever seen in a junk yard. Usually a lot of 14 inch, but I think the 15 are rare.

I was going to grab the head lights, but for the life of me I don`t know how to remove them. I was working on the left one. I removed 2 long screws on the top & 2 on the left side. removed the amber light. but there seems to be some on the bottom side, but the sheet metal piece between the bumper & the light is in the way. there are 2 small bolts on the left, butthe other ones are under the vehicle and seem almost impossible to get to. there must be a simple way for this light to come out.

all my manuals are for the W123, I don`t have any for the W116. I have never delt with euro light before.

The biggest bummer is that P N P had 60% off fri, sat, & sun.
I check their web site and signed up for their e-mail.

WHY DIDN`T THEY TELL ME???? 60% off and I missed it.

the backs of the lights are built onto the car ...there are like 4 screws on the FRONT face of the lights on the framing of them...those hold them in.

grab me those bundts and ill drive down and pick them up lol.

There was another 116 in there, but a US spect. had the round headlights. I took a look at it on the back side. the sheet metal is stamped out the same. has the hook for the wire to hold the back cover on.

after I remover the 4 long screws, I used a screw driver to break the seal
where it was stuck to the body. but there seems to be some screws along the bottom. I just couldn`t see how to access them.

there are some small screws, but they just turn and don`t do anything. also some clips along the glass.

The bunts are $19.99 ea. wed they would be 25% off. If I could have got them this weekend they would have been $8.00 ea.

The amazing, thing there was an 83 300D that had an engine fire. mostly in the r/f corner. burnt things pretty good behnd the headlight area. someone pulled the engine and stripped everything off it. only had 147000 miles. really didn`t thing anyone would have bought it.

I also found three rims that look like the steel wheels on the 240D, but are aluminum. don`t see them too often.

The 116 Euros shouldn't be to difficult to remove.

If I recall correctly, on mine they use the same holes as the DOT lights. You will need to remove the metal piece below the lights to access the lower mounting screws.
