AC/Heater Registers 300D

Can the registers be removed from the front side? Or does it have to come off from under the dash?

I'd like to replace the 2 center registers on my TD with an adjustable type since they come without a shutoff.

Just wondering if anyone has done this.

Have to remove them from the rear. 4 tabs around the tube diameter click in place when the unit is pressed on. Removing the old unit will probably break the tube section where the tab goes in. very common.

Thanks, Dave... Well, looks like I won't be messing with them then. The air flow of the registers are adjustable but through a common sliding control. I wanted ability to further close it individually.

Your setup is the 240D setup. The vents are not adjustable you use the lever. The non adjustable vents are no longer made. If they break you have to buy the adjustable. I have 2 of the non adjustable as backups to the 240D. It is a different setup but does work. The 240D rubber ducting from the evaporator box to the vent is also not available. The 300D ( newer version ) can be modified to be put into the setup you have.
