Bad BioDiesel from Meijer in the Ann Arbor, Michigan area!

DO NOT buy BioDiesel from the Meijer on Carpenter or Ann Arbor-Saline road. The fuel from those places has been full of algea for over a month! My friend Tom's '76 300D started to run REALLY bad and when we opened the fuel filters we found this:

That was fuel from over a month ago. Tom drained the remainder of the fuel from the tank and after letting it sit overnight there was a film and bubbles on top of it.

Just this weekend a friend of mine filled up his Jetta there and 30 miles later his prefilter was clogged solid.

This thread was started to address the same problem: http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=200386

You need to change your title, it's misleading. It makes you think that ALL diesel in the Ann Arbor area is bad, when in fact, it's only BIOdiesel from ONE retailer.

I would probably call them and get a status. Just talked to the store director and she did not know about it but will follow thru with the gas station.... I go to AA too and may gas up there. Thanks for the heads up.

GEE! That's too bad! Meijer's is better than that, in handling problems, particularly safety ones, that may cause injury or death. Keep at them!

I had problems with them when I lived in Ann Arbor, a few times, when they emptied kerosene, into the unleaded-regular gasoline tanks. You could smell the kerosene and the engine would knock, like marachas! A tanker emptying, his tanker, of maybe 100 gals. or less, for convenience, not having to drain them before he went back to the refinery, for another load of fuel. This happened at the Ann Arbor-Saline Rd. Store. They should have caught this, someone isn't doing their job, for them.

On the West side of Ann Arbor, at I-94 and Baker Rd., there is a big Truck Stop Complex, with 3 big Service areas, where the big trucks and companies, stop to refuel. Hundreds of trucks all the time. This is where I would refuel, and did, my Diesel vehicles, when I lived down there. I mention this for you guys going to and through Ann Arbor.

Drive Safely, Paul
