1983 300SD Water Leaking Problem

I have a 1983 300SD that has a water leak that has me stumped.
I have read the archives and did not find anything that really fits my problem.
The water leaks into the cabin from either side of the rear view mirror up behind the sun visors and drains down the inside A-pillar if the car is is on a side incline. I don't think it is from the windshield because it appears that it is coming from up higher between the sunfoof and the headliner.
It will not leak when you are driving, just when sitting during a rain. I got in the car and got the wife with the water hose and went to town. I could not get it to leak. But two days later we had a good 3 day rain and I had water down the inside of the windshield and on both seats where it has dripped from the trim above the sun visors. I have sealed every conceivable area of the windshield and anywhere that looked like it could leak water. This has been a ongoing problem since I have owned the car. I have owned it for four years and has probably been doing this for alot longer because the wood trim close to the A-pillars was seperated when I got it. I have put alot of work into this car fixing everything up and I would sure like to fix this.
If you have any thoughts, I am up to any suggestions.
