Could you post a pic or two? This sounds like a neat car! This should be an old fintail, huh? If it has been well maintained and has little or no rust and mileage is not incredibly high, it could be a good find! I'd love to see it!

Without a picture, it's really hard to say, but you could always take it to a mechanic and get a second opinion! Ive seen cars with higher mileage go for more, especially if they have been taken care of.

I suggest you invest $5.99 plus tax and buy a copy of Hemmings Motor News. A company that does telephone appraisals, and will gladly take your $150.00 in exchange for an expert opinion, advertises in Hemmings. The information you provide isn't enough, sorry if that's not what you want to hear. You are going to need to know, at the least: The material used in the the seats and door panels. The brand and model of radio fitted, if any. Manual or automatic transmission or Hydrak clutch Options made by special request when the car was new. These include, but are not limited to: sunroof, power steering, 15 inch wheels, trailer hitch, air conditioning.... The miles, unless documented by paperwork, are a worthless indication of value. The condition of the chrome, a thickness reading of the paint, and a thorough examination of the the chassis followed by a spririted test drive will yield enough information to glean if the car is worth 2800, or not. Since you don't elaborate in this post what denomination of money you speak of, I'm going to assume that you are refering to Monopoly money. Take your patronizing attitude somehwere else.... |

First off, since a 1963 W111 chassis 220Sb has a M180 six cylinder twin carb gasoline engine and this post is in the diesel forum, you might have better luck in the vintage forum.
I'm sure you knew that, or maybe you thought it was a diesel....... |

You could try looking for a similar car of this model on ebay. That would give at least a ballpark figure and you could compare the pics of the cars you see.
