93 300D Coolant refill question
OK guys (and gals),
I need to replace my wife's 93 300D 2.5 turbo's thermostat. Have searched the DYI area and past posts, but have not found an answer to: How do I re-fill the cooling system after replacing the blessed malfunctioning thermostat. Any help is greatly appreciated. Adriano

while I do not specifically know your car, the common practice is to carefully (to prevent damage to an old radiator) loosen the upper radiator hose, and pour the mixed coolant/distilled water into the hose until the block pushes air out through the radiator until the radiator is full. some recommend parking the front of the vehicle uphill, or on ramps to get the air out. then just reconnect the upper hose, and fill the expansion tank and squeeze the upper hose until it is free of air.

You can remove one of the sensors on the upper radiator hose fitting on the block to bleed air.
