The passenger seat looks almost pristine. I have a feeling the missing photo of the drivers seat is signifigant. Engine is junk. This guy is reaching quite a bit on price and I feel he knows exactly what he is doing overall. For far less money might be interesting.

"People often tell me that they can't believe she's 15 years old." - Yeah, it looks much older!
"I'm selling it because of financial problems as well as I need a truck" - Yeah, for the amount of money you need to fix the car, you can buy a truck.

Yeah, but on the other hand, what else does $6,000 buy?

A '98 Toyota Corolla?

I gave this one some thought when it was on craigslist locally - consensus was bent rods. I thought the pictures of palm trees and marina were odd - considering it is located in texas. Looks like the photos were taken in Florida?

The marina looks alot like one here in the Rockport area. Any one have an idea what a good 3.0L engine runs. I'd love to have a 2nd W140.

It's not worth $4K with a bad engine.

I'll bet nobody bids on it.

Furthermore, you get to pay your money..........but, you don't get title to the car due to the title being in possession of a bank. This is the general state of affairs with dealers..........and you're stuck with that. But, this is a private seller and you've got no effective recourse if he disappears with your cash.

Stay away.

I have always been able to get the title from my bank when selling off a car, wo I can give the seller the title when I get his money..... But I do a lot of other business with them.....most of it for a lot more money.

for a few more bucks, you can drive away in style...tempting price. In the link you provided, that part about the title sounds a little out there. You give this guy the money, he takes a walk without paying off the lien, and the bank ends up towing away "their" car.

You get the title before paying off the loan.........??

That's a unique relationship with the bank.........very few people can pull that off.

I would wire the money directly to the bank and have a bank officier to fax me the signed title; maybe even have a local MB guy there to take delivery of the title and car --- have a transport pick it up from a forum member's house.

I would help out someone on this forum that way IF you were buying a car in the Memphis area.

Sounds easy.

But, most banks don't give you the title on the day you give them the cash. Some time elapses. The arrangements are difficult.........especially with larger banks.
