Glow plug Reaming,happy ending
I finally got delivery on the GP reamer from DZMAK tools....., Ordered Dec 7delivered Jan 22. Took the newly installed GPs out, reamed out the holes and reinstalled the GPs using my newly acquired ratchet type combo wrench.
It was a piece of cake!!! Very easily done and a big difference in ease of installation, done with anti sieze compound. I removed the fuel hard lines and the throttle linkage and in my opinion this was a time saver. What would I have done differently?? I would have ordered the reamer from Diesel911 and gotten a better price and more timely delivery.:D:D:D |
Perfect.

Which engine did you do this on?

I'm going to guess a OM617.950 from his profile; would help if we all put the car model in our sig. His profile lists a 1980 300SD W116.

Glow plug reaming, happy ending
Sorry about that!! you are correct, it is the 80 300 SD with the 82 D engine and transmission installed. I was so much impressed with the excellent education provided by the members of this forum that I simply lost my way. Of course, the first order of business is to identify exactly what you are talking about. Anyway, many thanks to everyone for the terrific information:D:D:D
