Found car for sell ,cant find key.

Is it safe to start her via the junction box near the battery?Im curious to see also how its trannie feels, knowing that the wheel will be locked I should be able to move it forward and back ,right? Dealer will make the key if you have the vin ,has anyone had any experience with this lately? Do you need any special papers to show ownership? What price? If I get it shes a beaut, 85 300d ,lite blue with blue interior.A few dings here and their over the years ,but a perfect low mileage example, my coupe matchs her in every detail except the low mileage.

You'll need to energize the glowplugs in an alternative manner if the key is not working.

New Key

I just went to the dealer and had a new ignition tumbler made with my VIN in hand. It was $53 and came with one new key that also fits the doors and trunk perfectly. If you just want a key and have the VIN it is $25........at my dealer anyway. I had it the next day too.

I believe you need the title or registration to show ownership before they will make you a key. But you'll definetly need the VIN.

^ yes, you need proof of ownership, anyone can get the VIN from any car sold in the U.S., it's located within site from the outside on the drivers "A" pillar, or supposed to. I did this, new keys, took a long time at the dealership, had 'em cut and sent to my house within three business days, $15 each, plus $4 to UPS them to my house, I could have picked them up at the dealership, but would cost me more than $4.
