Fuel additives

What fuel additives are people here using to combat the destructive tendencies of ultra low sulfur?

Search. There are no "destructive tendencies" of ULSD. Its all hype to get people to buy useless additives.

I've had no problems, but I use Red Line Diesel Fuel Catalyst.

Mine likes additives, although I am usually too rushed to put it in when i fill up.

No ill affects.

I use Power Service from Wally World but only to keep my injectors clean. Add it every other tank or so.

Regular diesel. Other than that, pretty much any snake oil is the same.

Throw in a couple of gallons of BioDiesel with every fill up. That will give you B10, which is much better than old #2 formula.

How so? Bio has less BTU

With B10, you'll not really notice, but it has a lot more lubricating qualities than even the sulfured #2. Most people even notice the engine runs quieter. Test have shown that it will increase the longevity of the engine.
Not to mention, it greatly reduces overall pollution.

I thought that the quietness of the engine is because of the change of combustion characteristics and not the lubricating properties? I agree that it has better lubricating properties than D2. Whether it is significant when it comes to longer life is not proven. IOW, nobody knows what the graph of lubricity vs wear looks like. What is the point of diminishing returns? Again nobody knows.

biodiesel and veggie oil is quieter becuase the burn rate is inferior to diesel (not that I mind, If bio were a few cents cheaper than dino i would totaly use it). Therefore less top end power and no clatter, which is nice though.

Fuel lubricity has nothing to do with engine noise.
