Euro fire extinguisher

Hello I just got a euro fire extinguisher holder and bracket for my euro 240d. Just wondering if anyone knows what the proper way to mount this is. Does it attach to the seat or the floor underneath the seat?

Which bracket did you get? there are actually 2 parts, ond bracket that is usually black or unpainted metal usually attaces to the seat frame, the second part that is usually red attaches to the other bracket. if you can post a picture of all your pieces.

It's exactly as you say, I have the red part that holds the extinguisher and the black metal frame that it attaches to.

ok then, the metal bracket bolts to the lower part of the front of the seat frame, it needs to be able to move as the seat moves, you might have to drill holes

Brand new set up (w/o extinguisher) $150, it really costs that much! See excel spreadsheet that I emailed you.

Used set up (w/o extinguisher) $60

anybody ever hear the skit from bill cosby about the shelby convertible? "oh, how nice, the car comes with a fire extinguisher in case somebody has a fire, I can go help"... classic!
all my cars have a fire extinguisher in them... just in case...
my father's 90 ZR1 caught fire one day, all we could do was watch it burn.... 75K gone in a flash...

omegabenz 02-07-2008 01:20 PM

yeah, but with the cost & rarity of the halon mb extinguishers, you kinda have to think about it for a second.

vstech 02-07-2008 01:57 PM

it's too bad that the CO2 extinguishers are SOOO heavy... they are nice to have around though. all the vehicles I have with extinguishers have dry chemical in them... halon is WAAAAAYYYYY too expensive. I do know where to get some though if anybody needs them.
