New here and looking for advise

Hi my name is zach and I have recently bought a 1983 240d, Ive had it for about 8 months now and in all honesty this is my favorite car I have ever owned. It drives great, and isnt a frequent visiter of the gas station. The car looks ok and I wanna spruce her up a bit but I dont know were to start looking for parts. Theres a bit of rust on the car and I would like to do something new with the front seats and the arm rest, not to mention the wooden dash parts. I eventually would like to make it run on an alternitive fuel, and I hoping you folks can point me in a economicaly priced kit yet with quality parts. To be honest this is the first time Ive tried searching for info so please excuse me for my lack of terminology. Here are some pics of my 240d

I enjoy seeing this while I drive down the road, even though is not a brand new car, I get a some sort of weird pride of ownership when I drive it.

Not bad for $700. I know what you mean. Looking through that star as you drive down the road does give one a good feeling.

A pick and pull bone yard is by far the cheapest way to go, if there is one nearby, and have what you are looking for.
Otherwise, check the, for sale entry on this site.
Nice car for the money, start taking care of it, but that rust cannot be repaired.
Good luck, keep us posted on your progress, and welcome to your next addiction!

welcome

welcome dude.

You are in the right place to start off..

Keep searching the Parts section of this forum and post a WTB (want to buy) for the dash pieces, or even seats, interior, etc...

You can also look on ebay from time to time for small parts, and the junkyard, if you have one close will be the cheapest...
