I found a transmission for my 85 300d- transmission 722.315...

it is from an 82 300sd. Unfortunately the 722 # is gone. Looks like maybe the trans was rebuilt and someone very neatly removed the number?

Anyway, above where the number should be, on the bell housing was a number
126 271 ...

Is there anyway to tell which 722# the 126... number represents?

Phil told me the 82 300sd had two transmissions and the 722.416 would work with the 85 but not the 722.303.

Any thoughts?
