Thumbs up Got 1st..High Mileage Award today!!

Wow. Very nice presentaton. but.....
My 300D is at 296,xxx miles and I sent in for the 250KM badge and got the 500,000KM badge delivered today.
So called Paramus and nice lady will be sending out the correct badge and certificate today.
I can keep the 500,000km but won't put it on for another 15,000 miles.
As some of you may know these are nice heavy quality badges and a nice bound certificate; and also a cool booklet of M-B "toys" to buy.
(pics coming with the right badge soon.)

....Honda doesn't have these for their cars...

I wonder how they made that mistake?
I am certain there are individuals that get badges and put them on eBay.
And for the next so many years you will be getting sales brochures and stuff in the mail from your local dealership trying to get you to buy a new Mercedes!

Did you have to bring your car to the dealership to prove your mileage?

Our dealer just accepted the application. I think it took about six weeks to get. 3 months later we received our first junk mail from the dealer touting a new mercedes.

my next "new" mercedes will be another 124!!!

Yes you download the appication. Then fill it out and need to have a local dealer sign off on the mileage. (Of course they will have never heard of this process, so enjoy educating them!!) And park up front next to their best AMG's...and tell them your car runs on used cooking oil....

LOL!

I went to the dealership in Eugene to get a new ignition cylinder recently. Instead of going straight to the parts area I, being an ignoramus, went into the building prospective Mercedes buyers would go into. Somehow the people in there sensed I did not have the money for a new S Class and I was re-directed to the appropriate area. It all felt a little uncomfortable.

And this is Eugene we're talking about! Hippie central for those of you who know nothing about Oregon. It could be that the rudeness was more in my head than in reality...but I don't think so or I wouldn't mention it.

So yeah, park your car next to the priciest ones on their lot. Especially if it's got a few dents and needs a wash.

Do the badges only come in kilometers, or will they issue "miles" badges as well?

Yea they should give out mileage badges. Km's mean nothing to people in this country.

Don't know about in Miles...the ones I got say 500,000 kilometers.

There's no place on the app. to ask for miles or KM's....

As far as MB in Eugene, just go in with Bill Walton and get some respect....

Link to Award Application.

http://www.mbusa.com/media/downloads/main/heritage/High_Mileage_Application.pdf

I don't think you will ever see them in miles.
Besides Kilometers looks way cooler ! The numbers are bigger.

Curious though - they have a 1,000,000 KM award and then one more - for 1,000,000 Miles.
Maybe that is the only one. One Million Mile Club !

Rudeness lurks at dealerships!
Buy an old stethoscope and a white doctors smock to wear when you have to go thru the sales office, might get you some respect LOL

I do exactly that. And they love it, very interested in the car and take alot of pride in the fact my 87 300D has 258k miles on it and runs on chicken grease. They even give me wholesale pricing, so its cheaper for MB genuine parts than aftermarket. I'll buy a new MB one of these days...the service and dealer network is like Nieman Markus compared to Walmart coming from Volkswagen.

Anyways, cool badge, Im getting 1!
