A 300CD is the 2 door version of a 300D. I don't know if there is a 2 door version of a 300SD.

380SEC,500SEC and 560SEC are the coupe versions of the 126 chassis but no diesel version.

there's at least 2 or 3 W126 diesel coupes that people have built, one was just on ebay, but none were ever made by MB

I still want 4 people/seat in the car, not the 2 door couple that only has 2 seats in it...

I thought that I had seen on here some where some one was selling a 2 door car that was a turbo diesel??

Doc.

Probable a 300CD (w123)...not an S-Class (w126). Unless it was a Fankenshtein.

The 123 coupe (300CD) has four seats and two doors. It would be your only coupe diesel option unless you get (or make) a transplant job (you could put a diesel engine in a 126 coupe). There is also a 124 coupe available only with the 3L gas engine, but I'm not sure if you can fit a 603 in that car or not (diesel 124s had a somewhat different engine bay than gas 124s to accomodate the large 603, AFAIK). There are a bunch of 300CDs on eBay right now: http://motors.shop.ebay.com/Cars-Trucks___mercedes-300cd_W0QQ_nkwZmercedesQ20300cd ... and I'm sure craigslist has several. You could ask around here, too, as there could be someone looking to sell one.

To the best of my knowledge, only the V-8s had a modified engine compartment. I've had all versions, and the inline 6 engine compartment looks the same to me for both diesel and gas.

Which means a 300CE OM603 conversion is certainly possible.

Hmmm, not sure why I thought otherwise. In that case, that would be a pretty cool conversion.

The geniuses in Finland made one (C124 Diesel) awhile back if I'm not mistaken.
