ca to fed conversion, use ca turbo ?
 
can the cali turbo be used with the fed manifolds or do i need the turbo from the fed ?

IIRC, you can use the CA turbo. Someone who has done this before should be able to tell you for sure.

I think you can, You will have to re-clock the exhaust scroll and the compressor housing.

re-clocking a turbo is rotating the exhaust flange or the intake housing relative to the center section of the turbo.

I swapped the federal housing to my turbo but had no luck. You can turn the housing in any direction but when I went to put it all back on the oil drain tubes did not align. I took everything back off and looked at the two turbos and there is a slight difference where the oil drain galleys are. I didn't want to but I had to use the federal turbo.

I used fed on mine also. I think it would work, if you got a flexible oil supply line, then you could aline the drain, and reach the supply side? I just changed it , made an adapter to run to the CA air filter, and had the exhaust shop shorten the down pipe.
