one of my good friends dad just got a 300D on CL in indiana and its still on his trailer. he's taking the engine & tranny only.
the rest of the car is mine for the pickings...

the thing is... I only need the oddball parts...

so if people in the dayton/columbus/cincinatti area would like to make a wish list I'll gladly pull this car apart for ya free of charge.

if I need to ship it... then... well... you can handle that... I think just learning how to get what and where its at is enough benefit for me, being this is the first 123 i'll be tearing apart.

fyi i've got about 2 weeks to do it.
I will take pictures (tomorrow)
it is a sunroof *i don't need*

and the car is black.
upper portion i was told is rust FREE

I'll check this atleast daily.

i would like to get the climate control and the climate control amp, I also need a good cruise amp. I will be in the cincy area next month and I can pick them up then if that would be ok

not sure on sunroof. I know the windows are power... so is that an indication on roof?

he just told me (on the phone with him)
that all he intends on doing after I'm/we're done
is crushing it.
so I think what I may do is just try and get enough money to basically cover his cost of what he would get junking and get the entire car and have one big free for all...

What condition is the wood? Funny as it sounds, I am also looking for floor matts. And a window switch or two.

Update. I checked out the car as a whole today...

um. well...
interior is... half there half gone.
a few door panels there
back seat gone
front seats are far from mint but far from shot.
they didn't feel like mbtext and sort of a 2 tone creamish color
I lied. the car is dark blue
sunroof is power
wood is gone.
floor mats are gone.
radio and climate control stuff.
dash looks to be uncracked but will inspect more tomorrow, if i take it someone can have my dash w/ 2 VERY SMALL cracks in non noticable places. I'll also have some extra door trim pieces. and my hubcaps from my 240 (need little work & repaint)

I'll have to check on motor mounts and things like that. just about everything else is there...

things I'm taking :

trunk

front & rear pass & rear drivers side doors

all body trim pieces both mid & lower as well as rain rails

front bumper

bundts

Front & Rear bumpers

Tail Lights

Light Switches

piece above windshield that houses visors & rear view mirror and such

COMPLETE FIRST AID KIT *** NEVER USED****!!!!!
i didn't check on a triangle today
but its on my list...
radio and climate control stuff.

FYI

jump on this quickly
when i'm done with the car its shell is being sold to use in a demo derby.
so i'm putting my trunk and things....

its a turbo 300D and engine / tranny will be up for grabs... but not at the same offer i'm throwing out there...
the car has 150xxx and i'm not sure of year. its a later one tho...

I would be very interested in the rear differential, as mine just came apart. Let me know if you are willing to remove it and ship to me.

Hello,
long time lurker and a new-old '83 MB 300D Turbo owner. I live in central KY and would be happy to pay USPS on a box of any good rubber you can pull off the car, if such a thing would still exist. At the minimum, I am looking to replace the driver side window weather strip. Diesel Giant has a pair for $70 and I rather save the cash for a repair that keeps her on the road.
