Old style primer pumps no longer available? Anyone using the Bosch pump with bio?

Hey all, I need to replace my old style primer pump. It spewed fuel when I last changed my primary filter and I am beginning to think it is the source of a constant film of bio around the IP area. I have been reading about the possible need to stick with the old style pump rather than the Bosch upgrade when running bio or WVO. But...I've checked a couple of sites (including Fastlane) that are showing that they are out of stock of the old style pumps. Does anyone know if those pumps are not being made anymore or is it a temporary shortage? And, since I'm on the subject, does anyone have any recent info about the use of the new style pumps with biodiesel?

Edit: Actually, Fastlane doesn't seem to show the old pump at all. I bet if I call Phil will be able to get it.

They`re still made, not by Bosch, but other manufacturers and sold by Monark,Febi,Swag,Trucktec to name a few...

I know some brands offer Bio-compatible lift pump valves of the disk type ..
https://www.dieselcoupe.de/index.php?produkt=0270015861207&
...but have no idea about the hand pumps....
The site has an altern. fuel parts list(del.valve seals, lift pump o-seals
https://www.dieselcoupe.de/index.php?produkt=0450163024100&
,fuel hoses, lift pump valves etc.),but it seems they offer the regular hand pump as "bio-d"compatible... don`t know...

I believe that is the just a myth. Someone probably bought up the entire supply of old style pumps and were trying to get rid of them all using WVO as the reason. There is no conclusive test out there to prove the oild style is better the new for VO or bio fuel.

You should be fine with a newer style pump. If your running WVO even with the old style pump, you'll still need a vacuum hand pump like a Mighty Vac to get the VO to the front of the car.

I think so too. I know several people that have been running the "new style' pump for a few years now.

I've run 20k miles over the last 2 years running as much B100 as weather permits, with no problems so far. At $13 for a new one, it's not the end of the world if you have to change it out every couple of years.

Now I like that logic.

I think I'm convinced. I'm putting one on my next Fastlane order.

I've been using the new style with 100% veggie oil for 6 months now with now problems. The pump works great. So does the veggie oil.
