kickdown issue solved
just an FYI, kickdown was not working. Since there are so many things I can work on this was low on the list. I was looking to route wires for a boost gauge (didnt work) and I found that the hard sound deadener on the inside of the firewall was falling down in big chunks. A lot of the chunks were under the carpet by the accellerator and they prevented the pedal going the extra 1/2 inch or so to activate the kickdown switch. Once I cleared all of that away I took it out for a test drive and its a hot rod (relatively) again......... kickdown works perfectly. now if I can get the horrendous 2-3 3-4 flares fixed (modulator, K1 and K2 kits coming) I will be good to go. if that doesnt work I will start gathering the remaining parts needed for the 4spd swap.
