Instrument lighting

Ordered LED replacement instrument lights for my 85 300D. All lites work perfect but with 1 minor problem.

R/R heater control unit. LED lites worked perfect on both ends of unit
but would not seat into the 2 center sockets. Had to use OEM bulbs
(2721). The LED bulbs are a little longer than OEM. No big deal.

Won't be able to tell brightness till tonite. Florida, sunny and 70's

Not griping. Just wanted to post and make others aware.

I tried LEDs. The only places I kept them are the fuel reserve and turn signal indicator lights. Everything else I put the normal bulbs back in place except for the dash lights where I used something like THIS. It puts out a nice bright and clear white light.

On my 300sdl I used LEDs that I fabricated on inch long wire leads that are soldered into each bulb socket. This gives me the flexibility to move the LEDs directly in front of the prism. Otherwise I noticed that the socket is offset quite alot and reduces the lumination. After this the cluster is bright enough to see at twilight.
