Engine Mount Heat Shield
 
Anyone know where to order the engine mount heat shields online?

I just went to the dealership and they wanted an arm, a leg, part of an . . .

regular ole aluminum will do.. just find some scraps and get some tin snips

Could someone post a picture of what one of the heat shields should look like?

The original shape is indecernable from the crumpled heap that came out with the chucks of the engine mount.

Everywhere wants and arm and leg for them, except the wrecking yards. It's just a piece of stamped metal.

You can be creative and actually improve on the factory unit. Make a plate half an inch wider in all directions than the motor mount to keep that nasty stuff from the rubber. Drill/punch a hole in the center and cut a slot out to the edge. Then you won't have to unbolt the mount to remove it.

Is the shield itself flat or does it conform to the shape of the mount?
