No tach, low idle, abs light

1987 300TD. All of the sudden my tach went dead, the abs light illuminated and low idle began. I checked the fuse in the overvolt protection relay (ovp) and it was fine. I adjusted the idle control knob but it has no effect. My cruise control works fine. Is there a way to jump the ovp relay or is it something else? Any thoughts?

Uh, Please update your CP to include the model of the car. Idle control knobs did not mix with ABS.

OVP relay replace or repair.these units can be repaired if your good with a soldering iron.usually broken or loose connections on the circuit board are the cause of failure

i've read on other post that if my cruise control is still working that it's not the ovp. is there a way to jump the ovp with a small length of wiring to insure that it is a faulty ovp?

the OVP is there to prevent damage to the engine and ABS computers from overvoltage and spikes.i dont beleive it has anything to do with the cruise on this model

Smile Re no tach, abs light, lo idle 300SDL

I had the exact same problem and my guy replaced the 10a fuse in the OVP relay on the firewall to the left of the brake resovoir. It pulls up and out and you flip open the plastic cover and check the red fuse. It's an american type fuse btw. That simple. Just wanted to let you all know what my experience was. dave
