Silicone spray worked for the wobbly, bouncing speedometer needle

To the genius who posted this advice many moons ago, I give you a hearty "thank you". I recon'd my instrument cluster (pics later) about a week ago in between rust repairs. i colored the needles bright orange, disassembled the prisms and cleaned them up, repainted the white areas on the prism holders, and changed out all three W3W bulbs as well as most most of the smaller 2721 (hope i got the # right) bulbs. the last thing I did was to spray a good amount of white lithium spray (dry formula) down the speedo tube, resprayed, gave it a little shake, cleaned the male and female threads, and reattached. I went for a little drive yesterday for the first time in months and lo and behold, the needle works. I dont believe it works perfectly, but good enough. no more wobbly, bouncing needle. I'll have to run a test against my gps to verify the accuracy, but hell, if its w/n 3 to 4 mph, im happy.

Bob
