300D not shifting past 2nd gear
I have a ’83 300D turbo and am having tranny issues. The car will not shift out of 2nd gear. It runs perfectly up to 30 MPH. The car has about 340K miles and is in super condition overall. Here is what we have done to try to mend the problem: The B2 piston has been checked and is OK. The K1 piston has been replaced. There is a new filter and fluid. There is a new kick-down cable. Our thought is that it is the governor.
Can anyone help? Thank you all in advance. |

Do you have an electric kick-down switch?

ditto
The kickdown button got stuck on my 1985 300D. Look at the floorboard behind the accelerator.

Matt,
No, it looks like a vacuum operated kick-down switch. Thanks. Michael |
