How do you remove a trunk triangle clip

I don't want to just pry it of and bust it, but it seems to be held on with a plastic pin that I can't access the back side of to release it.

Anybody know how to get it off?

Pry it off. Its held in place by friction.

Put a screw driver center of the clip from the lock side, between the clip and trunk lid. Hit the screw driver hard with the palm of your hand.....pops right off.

I got it off, thanks. It needs to slide down towards the trunk hindge line before it pops out, you can't just pry it straight out.

It slides into place with tabs in cut outs, and there is this mother-effing locking tab that is just a bear to pop up.

Awesome to know! The 280se in the junk yard near me has the clip in it...I'll snatch it so I can mount a triangle if I come across one someday.

Is there a picture of this clip around anywhere? I have a triangle but no clip, and no idea what they look like.

Thanks for the link to the picture, now I know what they look like. Do these clips have just one fastening point to the trunk lid, and is the lid already set up for it?

TIA

Yes, its just friction holding it in place and all trunks have slots for a clip and triangle.

My 82 300cd is an american spec car but has the triangle. Do you think maybe it was a european delivery?

Either that or someone added the triangle later is my guess.

I tried to get the clip off the 280euro at the yard today with no success. Oh well....if I go back to it I will try again.

China was an American spec. car but was purchased through the European Delivery Program. She came with a triangle.

Yeah, I have a bunch of those triangle clips but no triangles. Seems the triangle is the first thing to go.
